Yo, Emily. So you want to follow me on Twitter in spite of my lack of tweets. Interesting. Do you know something about me that I do not?

P.S. Dig your site.
Just read your posting about not gaming online because of the harrassment you get for being a girl. I for one have never seen any other place or forum where the response is to chase off a girl who obviously shares an interest of your. makes no sense to me.
It’s cool. Doesn’t have to make sense to you. That’s not the ONLY reason I avoid online gaming (I see no point in having to rely on other people for gameplay – makes it less fun for me) but the fact stands that I’ve been harassed because I’m a woman during online games. People have used that “how big are your tits” line one too many times, and I have pretty much given up on online gaming. I’ve experienced the same thing on gaming forums, so I feel pretty justified in saying online play is not for me.
However, there are a lot of women who haven’t had the same experience I have. My opinion doesn’t apply to everyone – but I know lots who have experienced the same thing, both in real life and online. I haven’t been so much “chased off” as in the He-Man Woman Haters Club. Nobody has said “no girls allowed”. But guys have said some pretty insensitive and sexist things, and that combined with my dislike for relying on others for gameplay leads to me abandoning online play. Doesn’t mean I think all men are pigs (most of my friends or male) or that every girl should stay offline. Just means I don’t like online play.
